What is Cacao?

In reality, it's the unprocessed chocolate superfood that's turbocharged with magnesium flavonoids, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium and manganese to name a few.

Why is so Cacao fantastic?

  • It is full of Magnesium a mineral many people lack, essential for energy, a healthy brain, and nervous system. Magnesium is also known to lower blood pressure, it is often referred to as the stress antidote.

  • Cacao can have more than 10 times the antioxidant power compared to other antioxidant rich foods, that are well known for preventing premature ageing.

  • High in Iron, which builds the blood and helps to transport oxygen around our body.

  • Cacao can be high in flavonoids, which create antioxidant activity. This has been linked with heart health benefits.

  • Rich in dietary fibre which is known to improve digestion and improve your metabolism. Why not try this cacao smoothie bowl for a great source of all-round fibre.

  • Cacao has a compound called phenylethylamine. It is thought that PEA can help to elevate happiness and support energy, this is why we all love chocolate!

  • Cacao is thought to trigger the release of endorphins and contains anandamide, sometimes referred to as the bliss molecule, which binds to the cannabinoid receptors in the brain creating the feeling of ease and happiness. This can help to fight mood swings so next time you’re feeling a bit low or in a funk, reach for a Liquid Love Blend as a pick me up!
