Made with apple sauce and buckwheat this recipe has a lovely sweet crisp to it. I decided to use apple sauce for two reasons, firstly because apple and spice go lovely together and secondly because it's a great cheap sweetener now I'm a big fan of apple syrup but when you need to use larger quantities in a recipe things start getting quite costly!
What's great about this granola is that it's super tasty by its self but can also be used as toppings for a dessert or on a smoothie bowl.
Ingredients
2 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup of your chosen oil - coconut or olive recommended
3 tbsp of apple sauce
Pinch of salt
1 cup of buckwheat
1 cup of oats
1/2 mixed seeds or nuts of choice
1/2 desiccated coconut
2 tbsp Chai Blend
Method
Melt the peanut butter and oil just enough to be runny.
Add the apple sauce and stir.
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl, Oats, Buckwheat, Chai blend, salt, seeds/nuts, and coconut.
Pour in the wet mixture and mix well, we suggest getting your hands stuck in and enjoying the gooeyness!
Spread the mixture on to a baking tray lined with baking paper - we had run out so didn’t bother.
Bake at the top of the oven on gas mark 4 for 20 mins.
